Punish Actions, Not Beliefs.

I am disturbed, both as an American, and as a human being, by the fiasco involving the NBA, the LA Clippers owner, Robert Sterling, and Robert Sterling's disgruntled, spoiled whore of a mistress. The NBA has banned Robert Sterling from all NBA activity for life and will demand that he sell his team; his property.

I do not agree with or share Sterling's beliefs, but I argue that he has the right to them. Under the First Amendment, NONE of us should be prosecuted for our beliefs, but only for our actions when they are criminal, and not by public opinion.

No evidence has been presented that Clippers players are paid less than others in the NBA or that Sterling discriminates against them otherwise. His record of racial discrimination is public, yet everyone of these players made the decision to join his team and take his money. Ridiculously insane amounts of his money for skills that do nothing but provide entertainment in one of the least dangerous professional sports there is.

Mr. Sterling is being figuratively tarred and feathered by the press and the NBA for expressing his opinions as a party involved in a conversation in which he should have had a legal, reasonable expectation of privacy.

I think it is absolutely ludicrous that Al Sharpton should be speaking about racism with anyone. Anyone willing to speak on the same platform as him about race is questionable at best. He is a hatemonger.

Does Sterling's right to own property take a backseat to his obligations as a sports team owner and to the NBA?

The sound clips I heard seem to mark Sterling as a white separatist, not a white supremacist, but his mistress is part black and part Hispanic.

We have Black Miss America, black churches, BET (Black Entertainment Television), and People talking about forming a black basket ball league. Any disagreement with any of these brands one a racist in today's society.

I fully support Clippers advertisers' right to end their sponsorship because of the bad publicity. They, like any sports team is a business. There are a lot of glass houses out here. Do they ban NBA players for life and cancel their contracts for using the "N" word (which I didn't hear Stirling do) in private conversations?

We will never eradicate racism entirely as long as we remain human. We are wired for tribalism and to be wary of those who are different from us. Worshipping our sports teams is just one example of that tribalism run rampant. Spending $300 for a team jersey is a great example of the brainwashing many sports fans submit to.

It seems like it is "okay" to discriminate in America if you are in the majority, like Baptist parents prohibiting their daughter from bringing home for dinner her atheist boyfriend. Is it okay for an employer to fire a Baptist after finding out he told his daughter (outside of the workplace) he'd rather she didn't broadcast her relationship with an atheist at his workplace? What if the father is an atheist and the boyfriend is a Baptist?

I for one am boycotting the NBA for infringing on a team owner's right to freedom of speech, no matter how ignorant or misguided some of us might find his beliefs to be.

Wake Up, America!

Nocturnal Invader!

Just before 9 O'clock tonight I was driving home on the Interstate, car windows down, enjoying a cool breeze and the end of a perfect day. My serenity was abruptly interrupted when an unknown object of indeterminate size flew in through the driver's window, thumped into my chest, bounced off of my lap in an unhappy way, and disappeared into the darkness! My heart jackhammered in my chest and my mind exploded in a million directions; WTF was that!? A BAT!? A VAMPIRE BAT? A fat man's stoogie? A dud Malotov cocktail? The Holy Grail? Reacting as any sane person would, I whipped out my Fenix Tactical LD22 flashlight (My pistol remained holstered. I'm not THAT big of a girlyman!).

I shined the blinding 215 lumen beam down into the murky darkness, wondering what abject horrors abounded, waiting to pounce, and wondering if I'd have to bail out of the car at 70 mph. There on the floorboards, glaring up at me in the light was the Cold Steel FXG Jungle Dart that normally nestles above my sun visor to greet any carjacker foolish enough to stick his head or any other unneccessary appendages through my car window.

Despite my mild embarrassment, it could have been far, far worse. It could have been a fucking bee. Fuck bees in cars. Fuck bees in cars with a baseball bat.

Repeal Marijuana Prohibition

Repeal Marijuana Prohibition

As many of my friends know, I am a former police officer, soldier, and sailor and have worked in two different drug rehabilitation centers. During my time as a police officer I was pro-legalization when it came to marijuana despite the so called War on Drugs and despite not being a user myself. I saw the unjust laws do much greater harm to both individuals and our society than the recreational use of marijuana ever could. Among other things, our already overcrowded prisons are filling with non-violent offenders who had mandatory minimum sentences, often with no hope of parole, while murderers and rapists walk free. It was not a popular stance as the unConstitutional property seizures these laws allowed provided a lot of funding especially among smaller law enforcement organizations. A police officer saying they smelled marijuana created all sorts of probable cause and exigent circumstances to violate even more of our rights. Today I am a member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (www.LEAP.org) and want to see these laws repealed.

You don't have to have breast cancer to support cancer research and you don't have to use marijuana at all to support changing marijuana laws. Do the research and get the facts.

Repealing Marijuana Prohibition isn't about being stoned 24/7. It's about getting the government out of our personal lives, bedrooms, and medicine cabinets. It's the freedom to make our own informed adult decisions when they harm no one else. It's about fair laws and fair punishments. Marijuana has been used very successfully in treating cancer, seizures, Lupus, RA, Fibromyalgia, insomnia, chronic pain, depression and numerous other maladies. It is a much safer choice for recreational use by adults than alcohol.

Will big pharmaceutical companies control the cannabis market when cannabis is legalized for adult use? Only if we let them. Cannabis is a medicinal herb and it should be regulated as an herb, not as a pharmaceutical or a street drug.

Marijuana's non-psychoactive cousin, Hemp, which is another absolute miracle plant, is illegal because of it's relationship to cannabis and big businesses like Timber, Plastics, Oil, Pharmaceutical companies, privately ran prisons, and others who all profit from the prohibition, as do the corrupt politicians owned by them.

If you drive distracted whether it's because of alcohol, marijuana, texting, eating food, talking on your mobile phone, or fighting with your partner or kids, and you hurt someone or damage another's property you need to be held accountable. Just having marijuana in your car should never be a crime for an adult any more than unopened alcohol.

The NFL bans its players from using marijuana even though almost every player suffers from chronic pain and could be helped and healed faster without having to rely on dangerous narcotics. Knowing the type, strain, and potency of the cannabis they used would let them enjoy its benefits, be they medical or recreational. Just like for the rest of us!

As much as the government has tried to prohibit and misclassify it, scientific research backs all of these claims.

For over three years I have ran the facebook page Repeal Marijuana Prohibition. This makes me a target, which I don't enjoy (The squeaky wheel gets the boot heel). Change takes effort and sacrifice. I've watched my daughter in excruciating pain from Endometriosis as she was prescribed harmful, addictive narcotics that only mask the pain without helping her heal. I have severe sleep apnea, insomnia, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, circulation issues, chronic pain, bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, and arthritis, all of which have been successfully treated with Cannabis in others. If I were to choose to treat myself I would risk fines, jail time, loss of many VA medical benefits, freedom, second amendment rights, social standing, and much, much, much more. So I don't. Parents often lose custody of their dependent children. I take a stand hoping that myself and others will eventually be able to reap the benefits of this natural healer and freedom.

Repeal Marijuana Prohibition's purpose is to free marijuana & hemp from the bonds of ignorance, fear, & propaganda and to overturn the unconstitutional laws that still make its use a crime in so many places.

Size Still Matters

Once again, I am hoping to find a special lady. The online dating sites are vicious meat markets, but if you don't get out a lot or work with the public, they are a bit of the only game in town. Of all my preferences that I state, the one that gets the most comments is always my statement that I am rarely attracted to BBWs (Big Beautiful Women). I'm not denying that there are some gorgeous plus sized women out there, but the great majority of them don't get my heart thumping and my motor running. Faking it because of their other great qualities is living a lie and it doesn't change things. "Fake it until you make it" is not an option. The heart knows what the heart wants.

Women assume that because I am a big guy I will like or settle for big girls. Not the case, nor is it a fair or reasonable assumption. I realize some ladies won't be attracted to me in anything other than a platonic way because of my size. I can accept it or I can change. That is within my power. Same for the ladies.

Different people carry weight differently and some bigger folks have a lot of muscle tone as well as padding. Grace and movement are big factors too.

I've seen women thirty pounds overweight who look like Mrs. Potatohead and others who are eighty pounds overweight who are graceful, light on their feet, and sexy.

I'm packing a good bit of extra weight, but I'm built like a linebacker and play volleyball and still jump and block. Not exactly sloppy fat or a formless blob, but I still desire to take it off. I've quit smoking numerous times and it always plays havoc with my weight. Despite medical issues, I alone am responsible for what goes in my mouth and that is the ultimate factor in what one weighs.

I don't whip out a bathroom scale on the first (or any) date, but I know where I feel comfortable and attracted. Its not a matter of who will be better in bed or look good on my arm. Its who I am drawn to aesthetically and emotionally. I don't have a type, but I prefer slim, athletic, or average built ladies. Don't get me started on what women consider an average build! What attracts me fluctuates. What doesn't, not so much. Unfortunately, it seems to be the way of the world and very few of us are exempt from it.

America is mostly overweight. We pay for it in health, at the workplace, socially, and in love.

That's just my two cents.

But I don't wanna be emancipated!!!

My second divorce should be final today. Woo hoo. Been carousing the free online dating sites and am thinking of castrating myself and gouging my eyes out or gouging my eyes out and then castrating myself, depending on my mood. A frontal lobotomy or two might help me fit in, as would a season or ten with a cut rate southern carnival and a new wardrobe from the Salvation Army. I wonder if these women even read their profiles or live in the real world at all. You DO NOT have an average build if your birthday suit looks like a snow mobile suit! When most folks talk about having an athletic build they are not generally speaking of Sumo Wrestlers!

I'm not wanting a Barbie Doll, but the rampaging hordes of Mrs. Potatoheads are starting to get old.

At the risk of losing the adoration of tens (or perhaps twos), I posted the following on my profile. Go me.

I don't get women who post ten Selfies all accenting their boobs or rumps and then hiss and rant about not being on here for booty calls or FWB, That's like using pictures of amusement parks to sell plots at a cemetery. What were you thinking? Especially those of you who are adamant about being Christian ladies. Is Jesus a boob guy? Yes, I see, you have boobs. Your parents must be so proud. What else do you have going for you? Or those of you sainted ladies who talk about what loving, kind, nurturing, and compassionate beings you are, but can't even respond to friendly, polite, complimentary messages with a simple "No thank you".

Thanks for showing your true colors before I invest sixty two bucks on a couple of cups of coffee and accidentally back over your head in my haste to vacate the bookstore parking lot.

Celibacy never looked so good.

R.I.P., Max.

I see a lot of hate and ignorance being spewed out at the police officer who shot a two year old Rottweiler named Max a couple of days ago. Max was doing what he was supposed to do. So was the police officer who shot him. His owner was not. Whether the other officers who arrested him were is yet to be seen. It is a sad situation. Max's racist owner wanted to get arrested and cared more about it than his dog. He has tried to sue that department a half dozen times according to the news. I like most dogs more than most people.

I was a police officer and know a police officer who was maimed by a dog while on the job because he did not shoot. Max clearly lunged at the officer. I'm sure the officer who shot Max feels horrible. Walk a beat in any officer's shoes before you judge him.
